One Lane Bridge
I was writing a scary screenplay, so I was thinking a lot about what makes narrative scary. There are very few plays out there that
actually frightening. (The Woman in Black, adapted by Stephen Mallatrat from the novel by Susan Glaspell is the best example.)
Scaring people in a live theatre is different, frankly harder, than scaring them in a movie theatre. (I wrote about the difference
in an entry called Boo! in the blog I write for the Educational Theatre Association,
PlaywrightNow.)
